About us
VIGT is a collaboration between us, a mother and three daughters, that has been producing products dedicated to the home since 2013. The focus is on simplicity, quality, and fairness.
Our headquarters, studio and shop are in the old Hafnarvigtarhús in Grindavík. The house has a special meaning for us, as my grandfather/father-in-law built the house at one time. Fish trucks used to drive through there and have their cargo weighed.
The store carries the entire VIGT product line as well as various products that we feel fit well with our focus and product line.
The passion for creativity and beautiful things has probably always been there for all of us. We have lived and moved in the world of interior design and construction at the family business Grindin, which has been operating since 1979.
We manufacture most of our products in our workshop in Grindavík. We carefully select the manufacturers we work with, whether in Iceland or abroad. Our goal is to work with people who produce products in a humane way and in as much harmony with the environment as possible.
We draw inspiration mainly from each other and our origins and backgrounds.
A timeless product line is our guiding principle.
We hope you enjoy.

VIGT is a company formed by a mother and three daughters. We have combined our experiences to produce various items for the home. Our common interest is derived from our experience in the interior furnishings and construction industry. We have all worked for the family company, Grindin, which has built a number of houses and furnished them since 1979.
The majority of our products are made in our workshop. We carefully choose the manufacturers that we collaborate with, whether in Iceland or abroad.
Our workshop and store is located in the house where the fishermen used to come by to weigh their catch.
The house has a special meaning to us, it was built by our grandfather.
We seek inspiration in each other and our background and origin, wood.
